Biography

Syna Soosan Abraham completed schooling at Baker Memorial High School, Kottayam followed by Pre – Degree from B. C. M. College, Kottayam. She finished her graduation in Psychology from Union Christian College, Aluva in 1992. After seven years break from studies following marriage and motherhood, Syna completed her Post graduation in 2001 from Union Christian College with 3rd rank, M. G. University. In 2002 she passed UGC/ NET examination and worked with Union Christian College as a guest faculty for 4 years. Passion for her college and the subject Psychology, along with love of teaching, made her take up the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Union Christian College in 2010.

Co curricular and Extension Activities

Syna Soosan Abraham has done two UBCHEA and one UGC projects and also organized several seminars and workshops. She has volunteered as consultant psychologist for organizations and served as resource on seminars and community service activities.

As the staff co coordinator of Service Learning Centre, Center for Peace Studies and Dialogue and Pain and Palliative UCC Unit, Syna enables experiential learning opportunities for students through field visits, interactive sessions with experts, seminars and workshops.

Personal History

Syna is the first among the three children of late Mr. P. A. Abraham, IFS and Mrs. Joyamma Abraham, formerly a teacher. Mr. Charles Koshy Phillips, her husband and Syna are blessed with two sons and presently lives near U. C. College campus.
